IT4Print was established by Andrew Carra in 2000 with the aim of supporting businesses with their IT and Digital Print needs. IT4Print is the Trading Business name of Spinout Software Pty Ltd.
Andrew has had a long history of being an innovator in the Digital Print Industry.
Some of his achievements include:
| 1984 | Developed Australia’s first video paint box system and 35mm slide design system called Conjure. |
| 1988 | Developed image processing software for Imapro in Canada. |
| 1990’s | Established the company Digital Ideas in Australia, and designed and manufactured the ‘DICE Net’ colour copier and ink jet RIP product. Andrew became internationally famous in the digital imaging world when in 1990 he developed one of the world's first open-platform software RIP's. Marketing his RIP under the DICE Net brand, Andrew's technology became the solution of choice for digital imaging companies throughout the world. His technology was at the forefront of the high-quality digital imaging arena connecting publishing systems to high-end colour copiers and large format printers from companies such as Xerox, Canon, HP, and Ricoh. Worldwide 3,000 clients used his technology including the US Army, US Senate and US White House as well as local companies such as News Corp, Fairfax, ShowAds, and SNAP in their quest for robust, high quality digital images. DICE Net won the Australian hardware product of the year. In 1997 his company merged with Colorbus USA, and the DICE Net system was sold as Colorbus throughout the world. |
| 2000’s | Implemented the IT Infrastructure at Australia’s largest digital print business On Demand Pty Ltd. A significant business, On Demand required a large server infrastructure to support its digital print equipment, and provided sophisticated B2B customer connectivity. Implemented Australia’s largest Pageflex installation, comprising three servers performing print, Store Front and cross media activities. |
| 2009 | Special mention at the World PODi Awards for Transactional Printing. Using Pageflex to created complex Superannuation statements. |
